MassMATCH is the Commonwealth’s initiative to Maximize Assistive Technology (AT) in Consumer’s Hands. As you navigate your way through this website you’ll soon realize that it is the culmination of a wonderful collaborative effort and shared vision. Eight state human services agencies worked with constituents to empower people with disabilities, and the general public, with access to affordable Assistive Technology (AT) and information. The collaborators were constituents who use AT, family members, AT professionals, and representatives from the following state agencies: the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC), the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind (MCB), the Massachusetts Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (MCDHH), the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (formerly DOE), the Department of Mental Health (DMH), the Massachusetts Office on Disability (MOD), the Department of Developmental Services (formerly DMR), and the Executive Office of Elder Affairs–Office of Long Term Care (EOEA).
As a person with a significant disability who has relied on various forms of assistive technology (AT) for most of my life to live and work as independently as possible, I genuinely value having all the AT information and resources available in Massachusetts in a single, convenient location. MassMATCH is quickly becoming the go-to resource for anyone’s AT needs, regardless of age or disability.
Whether you’re looking for information, seeking advice, interested in a low-interest loan to purchase equipment or modifications, or want to exchange equipment, you’re only a few clicks away. Everything you need is right here. All it takes is a bit of time and curiosity to begin exploring. Like me, you’ll likely be impressed by the extensive array of AT resources available in our state.
I hope MassMATCH proves beneficial to you, your family, and friends as you discover how assistive technology can truly level the playing field for everyone, throughout all stages of life. I’m confident you’ll return frequently as your life and needs evolve. Please help spread the word so that as many people as possible can benefit from this remarkable collaborative effort.
Sincerely,
Charles Carr
Commissioner of the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission
