Job Title: Assistive Technology Loan Program Coordinator

Assignment:
Candidate will be responsible for coordinating assistive technology services territory-wide, helping people with disabilities during the selection of assistive technology devices, training consumers and individuals in the proper use of device equipment, effectively demonstrating short term equipment loans, conducting demonstrations and training for persons with disabilities, providing technical assistance to family members, advocates and service providers. Candidate will also be responsible for developing and disseminating assistive technology related information and referral assistance to persons with disabilities, and performing all other duties assigned.
Note: Position is grant funded and serves all three islands.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, special education, and/or other disability related field along with five years work experience. Experience working with individuals with a broad range of disabilities and/or functional limitations. Experience in administering and marketing assistive technology loan program. Broad-based knowledge and advanced application skills relevant to assistive technology products and services. Knowledge of laws and policies relating to assistive and information technology. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to travel as needed within the territory. Ability to comply with establishedrecord keeping/data collection policies and procedures. Ability to coordinate and assist with loan program applications.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $38,241 – $49,994 for the administrative year. Benefits include a generous TIAA-CREF or the VI Government Retirement Plan as well as a comprehensive group medical, dental and life insurance program.
Travel And Shipping:
If applicable, one-way economy airfare to St. Croix for appointee and immediate family and an agreed upon amount based on policy for shipping allowance will be paid by the University upon presentation of receipts.
